Risks and Complications
As with any surgery, Laser Vision Correction carries some risks, including:
- Infection
- Increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma)
- Cataract formation
- Endothelial cell loss (which could affect corneal health over time)
- Halos and glare around lights
Patients are advised to rest in the first 24 -48 hours and avoid strenuous activities, rubbing their eyes, or exposing the eyes to dirty environments during the healing process.
